-I spent $40 on nail polish yesterday! But see, I saved money at the same time, because I got the tip about this site from the current Allure magazine which I borrowed from the gym. I saved the full newsstand price of $3.50. AND, my nails are going to look so good (I got Au Chocolat and Bikini Bottom).
-My birthday suit arrived and it looks *awesome*!! I can’t wait to wear it, and to order more suits from Splish, I am so impressed with the quality and the look of it. I packed it already. Even though I don’t leave for L.A. for another week, I don’t want to forget it!
-SPEAKING of swimming. I am so excited to be working with Jen Harrison as my swim coach!!! I feel like I finally have some great guidance to help me get me faster, and I am super motivated for my workouts. And so far there has just been so much, I dunno, swimming. I am actually swimming a lot (for me) in order to get better at swimming… go figure
. But seriously, I love it!
-One of the things I have been doing with my glorious free time since the breakup a few weeks ago is I have been catching up on my music. I have blogged before about how I used to be a radio DJ (gotta let all my readers know that I have been cool at least once in my life!) - even though I don’t do it any more, I have this constant drive to find new awesome music. There is so much out there! My standby sources are the Live 105 Soundcheck playlist (their Sunday night new music show) and XLR8R magazine. I have subscribed to XLR8R for about 5 years now and it just keeps getting better and better. My favourite thing is that they include a compilation disc with each issue (subscribers only I think, not at newsstands), with artists featured in the current issue. I have a backlog of about 6 months worth of XLR8R on my coffee table and I am slowly making my way through them, there is just an overwhelming amount of good stuff
. Here are a couple of artists I recommend: Studio (Self Service and Origin are my faves but all are good), and Alias (I’m totally loving the “What You Gave Away” remix).
O.K. time for work…

Oooh, the Treatment System looks tempting (damn you!). Mary Kay used to make a really great & probably really toxic nail system, and my manicures would last for weeks. But it’s long been discontinued and I have yet to find a good replacement.
Court, you are such a rockstar. I like this music thing. I think we have slightly different taste in music, but I’m always open to new stuff. I’ll have to check that Live 105 thing out.
And GOOOOOOOOOOOOO swimming!
Hi Courtenay, I just completed my very first tri and I was so psyched that I went looking for tri-blogs…then I find you and you ride horses too! Isn’t the web great! Looking forward to following your adventures (and I love the swimsuit and the nail polish!)
Horses scare the crap out of me.
